MPH partners with Yale Quantum Institute for “Quantum Computing and the Law”
On September 2, 2026, Attorney Mark Myers and Dr. Florian Carle, Director of the Yale Quantum Institute at Yale University co-presented the two-hour CLE, “Quantum Computing and the Law” (https://quantuminstitute.yale.edu/events/2026-09-02-quantum-computing-and-the-law) as part of YQI’s brown bag seminar series. Quantum computing aims to provide tools that leverage the principles of quantum science to solve complex problems that are difficult – even intractable – using conventional digital computers. Quantum computers promise revolutionary advancements in medicine, materials science, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, encryption, and financial risk analysis. At the same time, quantum computing – like many disruptive technologies of the past and present – can be expected to impact both the quality of life and the laws that provide guardrails for society’s adoption of new tools and techniques. The purpose of talk seminar was to explore some of the ways that the advent of quantum computing may affect, and be affected by, the law.
