Scott has significant experience, primarily in the chemical, materials, and engineering arts, performing worldwide patent prosecution, rendering patent-related opinions, and conducting licensing due diligence.
Scott was formerly Senior IP Counsel for SABIC Innovations Plastics, where he counseled various business segments on patent, trademark, copyright, and contract matters. Before joining SABIC, Scott held Intellectual Property Counsel positions with the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Pfizer, Inc., Bristol-Myers Squibb, and Eli Lilly. He also served as Supervisory Nuclear Engineer for the United States Department of Energy and the United States Nuclear Regulatory Commission as Nuclear Power Plant Power Manager and Reactor Operations Engineer.
Scott was a Commissioned Officer with the United States Navy Reserve for 22 years, retiring in 2006. He also served as a Commissioned Officer with the United States Navy.
